7 Tinted Moisturisers/ CC Creams in 7 Days

7 tinted/cc

With summer coming up, I wanted to find a new tinted moisturiser that would fit perfectly into my morning routine. Something I can use every day, that applies quickly and doesn't require too much blending work. I have oily to combination skin, my cheeks are relatively normal, dryer in winter and my t zone is oily! So I wanted to test out different types of tinted moisturisers/ CC creams to see how they work.

Ps I couldn't get my hands on the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer because Australia no longer stocks Laura Mercier so unfortunately I had to leave that one out!

FIRST IMPRESSION: I really enjoyed this product its hydrating yet finishes matte with a full coverage finish. It stayed matte on my skin through out the entire day, would highly recommend for oilier skin types. It created a really even and flawless finish and photographed really well.

MY SHADE: Tan

COVERAGE: Full Coverage

FINISH: Matte

SKIN TYPE: Oily to Combination Skin

LONGEVITY (10hr test): Full coverage products normally stay on longer than lighter coverage products so this cream stayed on really well through out the day similar to the original IT Cosmetics CC cream, just didn't go oily on my skin.

PRODUCT Specifics: It delivers seven benefits, all in one! Full-coverage matte foundation, SPF 40 UVA/UVB broad-spectrum physical sunscreen, brightening color corrector, hydrating anti-aging serum, poreless finish primer, dark spot concealer, and moisturizing day cream.

Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser

FIRST IMPRESSION: Compared to the IT Cosmetics CC creams it was lighter in coverage but I did think this product had good amount of coverage for a tinted moisturiser, you can still see my skin underneath, it was creamy on application so really easy to apply and blend.

MY SHADE: Cuba Medium 3

COVERAGE: Medium

FINISH: Matte

SKIN TYPE: All skin types

LONGEVITY (10hr test): I wore this all weekend when I went to Splendour, it photographed flawlessly and stayed on my skin really well, I got oily by the end of the day and lost a bit of coverage around the sides of my nose but nothing major.

PRODUCT Specifics: Designed to hydrate and even skin-tone, this luxurious, oil-free tinted moisturiser reduces the appearance of dark spots and discolouration. Light-diffusing pigments blur and soften the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, pores and other imperfections and skin appears brighter and clearer.

FIRST IMPRESSION: I would recommend this one for more dryer skin types as it went really shiny on my skin straight away, the coverage is sheer, it applied okay, I used my fingers and it was a little streaky so you have to blend it well. I didn't love the Bare Minerals just because I prefer a more fuller coverage even for a tinted moisturiser and in comparison to the Nars and IT cosmetics it wasn't as flawless.

MY SHADE: Spice 08

COVERAGE: Light

FINISH: Dewy and Hydrating

SKIN TYPE: Dry

LONGEVITY (10hr test): As this is more of a sheer and hydrating product it didn't last that long at all on my oily skin and went quiet shiny at the end of the day.

PRODUCT Specifics: This weightless skin quenching gel cream glides onto skin with ease. Marine botanicals inject hydration and rejuvenate thirsty skin whilst mineral electrolytes help to energise. Infusing naturally radiant colour onto the face, broad spectrum SPF 30 is included for sun protection and to fight against free radicals.

Bareminerals-2.jpg

FIRST IMPRESSION: Amazing product, really easy to blend and layer, it reminds me of the MAC Face and Body Foundation but better coverage, less runny and more matte.

MY SHADE: Medium

COVERAGE: Sheer to Medium

FINISH: Satin Finish

SKIN TYPE: All Skin Types

LONGEVITY (10hr test): Stayed on really well on my skin, again I did get oily around my nose area but nothing a little powder didn't fix and I felt like it was still great in photos at the end of the day.

PRODUCT Specifics: This ultra-light, breathable fluid glides easily and effortlessly onto skin for simple, brush-free, buildable coverage. Non-comedogenic and formulated for all skin types, even sensitive, this natural-pigmented formulation is available in four adaptable shades to suit a wide spectrum of complexions.

Bareminerals-5.jpg

FIRST IMPRESSION: I applied using the stick applicator by drawing lines on each part of my face and then blended it out with a real techniques expert face brush. It is very sheer coverage, I would say almost see through and feels lightweight. Cream to powder finish, compared to the others it doesn’t feel as hydrating as this is more of a stick formula instead of an actual cream or liquid formula. I think this product is great for someone who isn’t looking at much coverage at all, replicating like “real-looking skin”, it applied and stayed matte within the first hour, it was very easy to blend, the only thing is it didn’t cover up my redness, but the formula is made to be minimal coverage. Great over all product, for my own preference I would just prefer a cream formula for extra hydration and coverage.

MY SHADE: Medium 6

COVERAGE: Sheer

FINISH: Matte

SKIN TYPE: All Skin Types but can feel dehydrating for dryer skin types.

LONGEVITY (10hr test): As it was quite see through, I couldn’t really tell if it faded or not as there wasn’t a massive difference at beginning of application but my skin did stay blurred and matte all day.

PRODUCT Specifics: This natural-looking tint blurs to create the appearance of smooth texture and even skin tone. The lightweight, cream-to-powder finish is suitable for all skin types.

Tinted, light-reflecting minerals soften the appearance of uneven skin tone to provide a youthful, diffused glow. Shade-adjusting pigments blend with your real skin tone coming through to naturally tint your skin. The overall effect is a soft-matte glow.

An innovative, soft-focus mineral technology that creates flawless-looking skin by smoothing and blurring the appearance of texture, blemishes, discoloration, lines, and pores.

Bareminerals-7.jpg

FIRST IMPRESSION: The colour of this cream comes out white and as you blend the heat of your skin changes the colour and it adapts to your skin tone. Applies very smoothly, makes my skin look really blurred out and finishes matte with a sheer coverage.

MY SHADE: Regular - Medium to Tan Skin Tones

COVERAGE: Sheer

FINISH: Matte

SKIN TYPE: Oily - Combination

LONGEVITY (10hr test): I really enjoyed using this product, great for oily skin. It lasted really well all day even for a light coverage product, stayed matte and I didn't need to powder at all.

PRODUCT Specifics: This high-definition color correcting primer helps create a flawlessly luminous canvas by blurring the appearance of fine lines to leave skin prepped and ready for makeup application. With two shades, color-matching pigments help create a seamless match to a wide range of skin tones. Broad-spectrum SPF 25 helps to protect skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays, and the finished product is a complexion feeling soft with a non-oily yet radiant finish.

Bareminerals-4.jpg

FIRST IMPRESSION: Full coverage especially for a CC cream, the finish is more hydrating and it applies and blends really well, although by the end of the day it went very oily on me. I found it more dewy than what I normally like but if you prefer a dewy finish or have dry skin and like a full coverage, this would be perfect!

MY SHADE: Tan

COVERAGE: Full coverage

FINISH: Hydrating/ dewy

SKIN TYPE: Dry Skin, or skin types that prefer a dewy finish

LONGEVITY (10hr test): It stayed on well through out the day, the only thing was it went really oily on me than usual products.

PRODUCT Specifics: Your one step to full coverage! This highly pigmented, multi-tasking CC cream covers everything, won’t crease or crack and finished with a healthy-looking glow. Developed with leading plastic surgeons, Your Skin But Better protects against both UVA and UVB rays, is bolstered by anti-aging properties and is clinically shown to improve skin texture, brightness and hydration.

My Top Personal Picks

I loved both IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Oil Free Matte CC Cream SPF40+ and Erborian CC Crème High Definition Radiance Face Cream Skin Perfector as my top picks, I can't decide which I like better only because they're both amazing, both are hydrating yet stays a comfortable matte finish on my skin. The IT Cosmetics is great for when I want a full coverage and the Erborian is perfect for a lighter everyday look, the other ones that come after are the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser and the First Aid Beauty Hello Fab Triple Protection Skin Tint SPF 30+ .

Hope this helps :) x
